Lower School

The elementary school curriculum has a strong emphasis on reading, language arts, and math skills as well as science and social studies. Skills are developed through application, analysis, and higher order thinking. Teachers use a variety of methods to help students achieve success at an early level. Students attend enrichment classes each day. Enrichment activities include music, art, P.E., library, and computer science. Our Accelerated Reader Program provides students with continuous practice of fundamental reading skills. Our Lower School Computer Lab offers students the opportunity to use the most up to date technology to enhance their learning experience at Williamsburg Academy. Technology is also incorporated into the classroom through the use of smart boards and interactive technology. We consider parents and grandparents to be a valuable resource and parental involvement is strongly encouraged.
