The National Honor Society is a National Organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. The NHS serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Membership in the Montgomery Chapter of the National Honor Society at Williamsburg Academy is offered to those rising juniors and seniors who are selected by a faculty committee appointed by the Head of School for that purpose. A student must first have a semester average of 85 or higher. The faculty committee will then rate the student in the other requirements set by the National Honor Society: leadership, character, scholarship and service. The student must receive an overall rating of 80% from this committee. New students must complete one full semester of academic work at Williamsburg Academy before becoming eligible for the National Honor Society.
